Who We Are...

Mission Statement

The student ministry of Armstrong Chapel welcomes students and families to worship, learn, serve, and grow in the development of a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ.

Core Values

Christ-Centered:  We create a ministry where Christ is at the heart of everything we do and everything we are.
Christ’s Love:  We demonstrate unwavering love for all, including those who are different from ourselves.
Biblically-Based: We design programs that explore the teachings of the Bible and connect them in relevant ways to the lives of today’s students.
Serving Spirit: We humbly and joyfully put the needs of others before our own.
Welcoming: We foster an inclusive, accepting, and nurturing community.
Student-Led: We empower students to lead through relational ministry among their peers and the world.

Why have youth do confirmation?

Confirmation is vital for teaching young people what it means to be Christian. It is even more important today than ever in our fast-changing world. Our children are faced with so many things that we weren't faced with in school. We educated them properly, accepting people who are different from them. Many of them now struggle to draw lines between Christianity and other world views. This is where confirmation comes in.

Youth Confirmation will be...

Sunday evenings

January 14 - March 10

We will meet in the Atrium from 6:30-8:00 for dinner, activities, and a lesson.
Even if your student has already experienced Confirmation, they can still attend.
Lessons will be different, and we will cover Confirmation in a different format –
in a small group with discussion and activities.

Following classes, students can become members of Armstrong Chapel.

During the 9 weeks of confirmation, we encourage worship attendance and church participation.

Confirmation schedule for the coming weeks will be as follows:

Sunday, March 3: 6:30-8:00 – The Importance of Communion
Sunday, March 10 6:30-8:00 – The Importance of Spiritual Gifts and Disciplines/ Wrap Up

Sunday, March 17

is Confirmation Sunday during the 9:40 service when confirmands are recognized.

We will meet for dinner and a service project in the evening 6:30-8:00.  Come and enjoy pizza for dinner!  We’ll be hanging out for games and packing hygiene kits for our ministry partner, IPM.  Hygiene kits go to students in Clermont County who are in need of basic care items, like deodorant, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste, etc.  Please bring in several items to pack for these hygiene kits for this time together.

We’ll take a break for Easter/Spring Break on Sundays, 3/24 and 3/31.  In April , the youth will meet with the same Sunday evening format to continue their study of the Book of Mark – a fast-paced account of the life and ministry of Jesus.

I hope that all students will continue to come on Sunday evenings!

Sunday, March 17th during the 9:40 service is Confirmation Sunday.  Your student will be recognized in the service for their decided commitment of faith to the church.  Please email me a picture of your student by Sunday, March 3rd for the bulletin on Confirmation Sunday.  I need everyone’s picture, please.  Refreshments and reception to follow the service.
