A Christmas to Remember
Remembering as presented in Scriptures is a meaningful, sacred participation in the reality of past events resulting in powerful implications for one’s life in the present! Share in worship and prayer as Lead Pastor David Brown "Sunday Specials" for the second Sunday in Advent.
Luke 1:30-33
“And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”
Advent means "coming." We remember our longing for the birth of Jesus the Messiah, who brings LOVE to the world. Today we light the first candle of Advent, the candle of HOPE and we light the second candle of Advent, the candle of LOVE.
This Advent season, we anticipate the arrival of the Messiah and with Him perfect LOVE here on earth. May we rest in God’s perfect LOVE during this Christmas season and seek to demonstrate this LOVE to all those around us, proclaiming the birth of the Savior, God with us. We will be led in song and praise by the Armstrong Chancel Choir directed by Ben Basone and accompanied by Stacy Haney on the organ and piano. Today we sing songs to our savior with UMH, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, Emmanuel, Emmanuel, Sing We Now of Christmas, and Angels from the Realms of Glory.
During this service we will be highlighting our Children’s Sunday School Program with a special Children’s Moment with Dianna Sheely. Special thanks to Beth Eberle for being the liturgist and leading us in the Call to Worship and scripture passages and Amy V and her family for lighting of the second Advent Candle.
