Mountain Commands
WELCOME — WE ARE GLAD YOU ARE HERE!
This Sunday at Armstrong Chapel, we gather for worship as we reflect on “Mountain Commands,” drawn from Matthew 5:1–12. In the Beatitudes, Jesus speaks from the mountainside, offering words that challenge our assumptions about blessing, strength, and what it means to live faithfully in God’s kingdom. These teachings invite us into a way of life shaped not by power or status, but by humility, mercy, and a deep reliance on God.
Through Scripture, prayer, and song, we’ll explore how Jesus’ words continue to guide and shape us today—calling us to embody compassion, seek justice, and trust God even in the midst of struggle. This service invites us to listen closely to Christ’s voice and reflect on how these “mountain commands” form us as disciples and as a community of faith.
Worship will be enriched through the music of Many Gifts, One Spirit, Your Love, O God, and When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, as we lift our hearts together in praise and reflection.
Whether you’re worshiping in person or joining us online, may this time draw you deeper into God’s cleansing grace and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for sharing in worship today!
