Armstrong Chapel's dedication to community outreach is truly remarkable. By placing a strong emphasis on service and fellowship, we not only bring people together but also make a tangible impact on those in need. Our mission programs actively organize volunteers to serve at various organizations, ensuring that needs are met and communities are supported. Through the donation of food, clothing, and supplies, we strive to foster a sense of unity and compassion in the surrounding areas.

Share in our efforts to make a meaningful difference and create a more connected and compassionate community for all!

Share in any of our community events that are designed to bring us together and uplift our spirits! From inspiring motivational speakers to entertaining movie nights, captivating art shows, vibrant concerts, and so much more. These inclusive events are not just about enjoyment; they are about building relationships with our neighbors, creating a sense of community, fostering family-friendly fun, and highlighting the wonderful facets of our shared space. Be part of the vibrant tapestry that brings us closer and celebrate the positive energy that unites us all!

How we have impacted our community

Faith-Centered Gardening

To nurture a garden feeds the body and soul.

The raised garden bed behind the church goes to support our mission partner, Inter Parish Ministry.

Since July 1, with God’s grace and the dedication of our volunteers, we’ve harvested:

  • Over 120 cucumbers
  • 4 gallons of tomatoes

A special thanks goes to Rachel Ney (pictured with her aide), whose passion and commitment to the ministry inspire us all. Rachel has been instrumental in getting us to dream bigger and give more. Her heart for serving others through fresh food is a gift to Armstrong and our community. Rachel wants to grow the mission further, and we invite you to be a part of it! If you have extra produce from your own garden, please bring it to the church and place it in the crates labeled “IPM” in between the Atrium entrance doors. Together, let us sow seeds of kindness and nourish in body and spirit.

Madisonville Braves Celebration '25

Thank you all for your help with the party to celebrate the end of a successful season for the boys and girls of the Madisonville Braves.

Armstrong Chapel UMC volunteers grilled, prepared, packed, and served a hot meal for our neighbors.

We had 11 volunteers for the Drive-Through Pantry

Thank you to everyone involved for the great turn-out!

Thank You to Our Women’s Period Pack Volunteers!

A heartfelt thank you to all the incredible volunteers who joined us for our two-day Women’s Period Pack Project! Annual Yard Work Outreach

in Madisonville was a success!

Thank You to Our 2025 Leaf Raking Volunteers!

A huge thank you to all who joined our Armstrong Chapel and Madisonville Braves Leaf Raking Mission, led this year by Andy M. This annual outreach is a beautiful example of faith in action—helping low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners in our community prepare their homes for winter.

Your hard work and servant hearts made a real difference for our neighbors in Madisonville, reminding us what it means to care for one another and live out the love of Christ. Each rake, bag, and smile shared helped bring warmth, hope, and connection to those we serve.

We are deeply grateful for your time, energy, and compassion. Thank you for being part of this meaningful mission and continuing the Armstrong tradition of community care and service!

Thanksgiving Community Outreach

Thank You for Supporting Our Thanksgiving Food Drive!

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who donated to our Thanksgiving Community Outreach in partnership with Joshua’s Place. Because of your generosity, we collected 58 bags of food to bless families served through the Deer Park Food Co-op this holiday season.

Joshua’s Place is a locally based non-profit that walks alongside families to help them overcome barriers and build stability. Together, we were able to share the love of Christ and provide traditional Thanksgiving meals to those in need. Your kindness and compassion are a true reflection of the spirit of gratitude and community this season represents.

At Armstrong Chapel, the heart and spirit of our community shine brightly thanks to our incredible volunteers—your dedication makes everything come together, and we are deeply grateful for each and every one of you!

ABOUT IHN, FOUND HOUSE INTERFAITH HOUSING NETWORK

Found House IHN began on October 26, 1991 as Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Cincinnati (IHNGC), with a Day Center, and eight congregations who opened up the doors of their churches and synagogues to homeless families.

Since 1991, our network has grown to include over 100 congregational partners, representing people of Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and Unitarian faiths. Congregations provide overnight shelter and meals for homeless families in our Emergency Shelter program.

Found House has also grown and enhanced the services offered over the years to provide wraparound support for the whole family that extends beyond Emergency Shelter.

ABOUT HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Inspired by the national Habitat for Humanity movement, a group of local Christians founded the grassroots organization in Cincinnati in 1986. The early Cincinnati Habitat was entirely volunteer run with large involvement from our church and others.  Today, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Cincinnati is the largest nonprofit homebuilder in the region. Together with homebuyer families, donors like us, and volunteers they have built over 680 high-quality modest homes and completed over 140 critical home repairs for low-income homeowners in our community!

Their mission is seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

ABOUT IPM FOOD PANTRY

Reaching Further. Feeding More.

Community has been a core value of IPM since its foundation. In 1964, Armstrong Chapel and three local churches joined together to help families living in impoverished conditions along the Little Miami River near Newtown, Ohio. The group realized that they could help more people by working together, so they formed a non-profit organization called Inter Parish Ministry (IPM) with the goal of helping neighbors during difficult times.

IPM Food Pantry feeds families in need and brings community members together to enhance lives throughout the Cincinnati area. IPM continues to transform the definition of a traditional food pantry.  We meet people where they are and treat each family with dignity, helping the entire community thrive.

As decades moved forward, we continue to help IPM expand its ability to impact more of the Cincinnati community!

The Wesley Foundation

The goals of the Wesley Foundation at Cincinnati is to build Christian community with students at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati State and create pathways for leadership development and discipleship. Started in 1925 as a gathering of interested UC students, the Wesley Foundation in Cincinnati has offered a consistent and sustained United Methodist presence among young adults at a critical time of learning, questioning and maturing. We are celebrating our 100th Anniversary and have our final Celebration homecoming weekend on Oct 25. We strive to reflect the love of Christ to all who enter our doors and those we encounter on campus. Our Mission statement is: Authentic Community, Faithful Exploration and Radical Love. We work to create a ministry where all students know they are loved—fully, deeply, and just as they are. Throughout the academic year we offer students opportunities to grow at our weekly dinner church, Bible study, social events, leadership team, fall retreat, winter social justice trip and spring mission trip.

 Armstrong Ministries

A Prayer Shawl and Creative Ministry

Meets every Third Tuesday morning, from 10:30 am -12:00 pm

Everyone is Welcome!

Approximately 100 handmade items were distributed to individuals and non-profits in 2024!

We hope you will gather for our regular monthly meeting on the Third Tuesday morning, from 10:30 am -12:00 pm (noon) on location close to the church, contact the office for more information on the location.  Everyone is welcome to enjoy the fellowship that comes from making a small difference in the lives of those who might benefit from a handmade item on their journey to wholeness. We will be working on prayer shawls, lap blankets, stuffed animals, etc.  You do not need to know how to knit, crochet, or sew to participate. There will be many options to help such as creating tags, bagging, and sorting. The fellowship will be as important as the mission work and we hope you will come and be a part of something special! Bring a friend!

We want to extend a huge thank you to the Hands & Hearts Ministry for their incredible work! Their dedication to making Teddy Bears for the families of Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is truly a blessing. These adorable bears bring comfort and joy to those who need it most, and it's all thanks to the time and effort of the Hands & Hearts Ministry team.

Their selfless act of kindness is a wonderful reminder of God's love and care for us. It's amazing to see how a simple gesture can bring so much happiness to a family in need. We're grateful for this and their commitment to serving others. May their good work continue to inspire and uplift our community!
