Sometimes I Feel like A Motherless Child

On this Mother’s Day, we gather for a meaningful and honest reflection through the message “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child,” rooted in John 14:18–21.

In this passage, Jesus speaks words of comfort and promise to His disciples: “I will not leave you orphaned.” These words remind us that God sees our loneliness, grief, longing, and need for belonging. Whether this day brings joy, gratitude, sorrow, complicated emotions, or memories of those we miss, Christ meets us with compassion and the assurance that we are never abandoned.

This service creates space to honor mothers and those who have nurtured, guided, and cared for us, while also acknowledging the many different experiences people carry on Mother’s Day.

Through worship, prayer, Scripture, and song, we are reminded that God’s love remains constant and His presence faithful. Share as we reflect on the hope, comfort, and connection we find in Christ—the One who calls us His own and promises never to leave us alone.

Thank you for sharing.
