Psalm 95: 1-2 and John 4:5–15
Mercy at the Well

In week 3 of Lent, we reflect on and pray about this week from Sacred Spaces is the meditation Serve Others:

Most people are searching for happiness, but if happiness becomes the sole goal of our search it is often missed.  Jesus suggests that happiness comes to those who sek something else.  Happiness comes to those who seek to serve others, or, as Jesus declares, it is in giving that we receive. Our journey this week with the message “Mercy at the Well,” rooted in John 4:5–15 describes a powerful encounter, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well and offers her something far greater than physical water — the gift of living water that satisfies the deepest thirst of the human soul. Through this story, we see that Christ’s mercy reaches beyond barriers of culture, history, and personal brokenness. Jesus meets people exactly where they are and invites them into a new life of grace, truth, and transformation. As we move through the third week of Lent, this passage encourages us to reflect on the ways Christ continues to meet us in ordinary moments, offering mercy, renewal, and the promise of living water that never runs dry.
