Steve and Jody Hoard, three school age daughters and Friar Frog came to Armstrong Chapel in August of 1976. He came as the Minister of Education. He joined the team of Reverends Paul Tropf and Jerry Dickey on the staff at the time.
Steve has degrees from Asbury, United and the Atheaeum Seminaries. He also attended Princeton, Drew, Lancaster, St. Meinrad and the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Renewal. He is a retired Fellow in the American Association of Pastor Counselors and licensed counselor in the state of Ohio. He spearheaded Armstrong Chapel joining with two other local churches in bringing the nationally known, Samaritan Pastoral Counseling Center to Cincinnati. He left Armstrong in 1981 to go on the staff of the Professional Pastoral Counseling Center in Kenwood.
He began as a radio announcer at 15 years old and won the American Bible Society Award for the Public Reading of the Scriptures and finished second for the Preaching Award at Asbury. While Steve is retired, Jody continues as a realtor for Sibcy Cline Realtors. They returned in early November from a month in Japan, Korea and China. Steve volunteers as an announcer on WSSR for the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired and is the ranking member of the Ethics Committee at The Christ Hospital.
