Congregational Care

Congregational Care has two main purposes- to come alongside those in  times of sorrow, sickness and setbacks and to serve the church community with various internal ministries such as hospitality.  Congregational Care ministries range from hospital and shut-in visits, short term meals following a hospital stay or death in the family, communion and prayer.   The Hospitality Ministry includes ushers, greeters and the fellowship table.

Love in Action

Love in Action provides short term meals to those who need a little extra help following the birth of a baby, a stay in the hospital, a death in the family or other similar situation.  If you or an immediate family member would benefit from a few meals, complete the form at the bottom of this page.

LITURGIST

Lay liturgists share in the order of worship on Sunday mornings for the 8:20 and 9:40 worship services. Typical duties include leading the call to worship and reading scripture (usually the Old and New Testament lessons).  Text is available in advance.

Hospitality

Fellowship Table:

The joy of Sunday worship continues in the Atrium as we gather around the Fellowship Table for conversation and refreshments after the 9:40 and 10 a.m. services. Can you spare an hour or two to prepare the snacks? Flexible arrangements make it possible for you to attend your favorite worship service on the Sunday you volunteer.   Fellowship Table Guidelines

Welcome Team: Greeters, Connect Desk Staff and Ushers all help to make our Sunday morning guests and regular attenders to feel welcome and to answer questions. All services are blessed with welcome teams.

Greeters: Serve on a regular basis as your sechedule permits.  Two greeters are posted at each of the three main entrances (Sanctuary, Atrium, Children's).  Greeters are asked to warmly welcome all who enter Armstrong and answer questions as needed.  Contact Carol Pearce or the church office with questions. Sign up to serve as a greeter at the link below.

Prayer Chain

If you have a heart for prayer then we need you on the prayer chain.  The prayer chain receives weekly updates on those asking for prayer on the connect cards from the weekly bulletins or from phone calls that come into the church office.  Your task is to genuinely pray for the names on the list and the needs expressed.   Complete the form at the bottom of the page to join the prayer team.

Visitation

Pastor of Congregational Care, Elizabeth Brown, visits with members who are hospitalized in the short term or are in extended care facilities and are unable to physically get to church for weekly worship.  If you or an immediate family member are in need of a visit, contact the church office or complete the form below.

COMMUNION

Communion is served monthly on the first Sunday during the 9:40 worship service.  Eight servers are needed each month with one person acting as a Captain who will purchase and prepare the elements.  Sign Up to serve as your schedule permits.
