Guest Speaker - Doug Flynn
Doug is entering his ninth straight season as a broadcaster of select games on the Reds Radio network. He played in the Major Leagues for 11 seasons with the Reds, Mets, Expos, Rangers, and Tigers. In 1980 he won the Rawlings Gold Glove Award for second basemen and remains the only Mets player to win the award at that position.
However, the Reds are the team most influential in his development as a player and person. He played a key role as a utility player on their World Championship teams of 1975 and 1976 and affectionately is referred to as “the glue” for those teams.
After his playing days, Doug ran Kentucky’s anti-drug program for nine years, sang with the Oak Ridge Boys, coached in the minor leagues, provided color commentary for ESPN and CBS Sports, and hosted radio and tv shows on high school sports and fishing in his native state of Kentucky. He is the current host of Kentucky Life, a program on the history of the state airing on Kentucky Education TV. Doug also hosts Reds Fantasy Camps and raises money for the Reds Community Fund.
At Super Charge, Doug will share with us his personal experience has helped him throughout his life.
